College teams
Most Colleges in Nelson/Tasman have sailing teams – a squad of 12-14 sailors enables two teams. Training is after school during terms 4 and 1 of the school year (with schools allocated different afternoons). Inter-school racing takes place each Sunday in the Nelson harbour (terms 4 & 1).
Safe environment
NBTS offers a safe and healthy club environment for students. NBTS has detailed health and safety standard operating procedures, which are updated on a regular basis, and as required by law.
Coaching
To ensure the students are correctly instructed, safely and with respect for the boats, NBTS contracts a qualified coach for the summer season (through Nelson Yacht Club). This season our coach is Bryn Stevens – Bryn is a keen sailor of many classes including keelers and a Teams Sailing coach.
Cost & more information
The NBTS fee for this season is $220.00 and the sailors also need to join the Nelson Yacht Club as a youth member.
This season the regional top of the south regatta will be at Picton held by the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club during summer sports week (31 March - 2nd April 2022). The 2022 Nationals will be in Algies Bay (25th - 29th April 2022.
